Adopting a Health Promoting Schools (HPS) approach can improve the sustainability and effectiveness of food safety education. The HPS approach embraces not just the curriculum, but also the school environment, policies and partnerships.
The Health Promoting Schools approach and food safety provides information related to food safety on the HPS approach, engaging parents and families, school policy and sources of information. Three examples of HPS policies are provided to help schools implement a HPS approach to improve food safety education and practices.
