Health Service District Responsibilities

Meet the reliever on arrival

Provide local orientation for the reliever

Provide a supportive clinical environment for the reliever including a clinical contact person and a direct line supervisor contact at the site

Pay for reliever's salary, as well as applicable accommodation, travel and incidental allowances and expenses

Organise travel and accommodation for the reliever in consultation with the Allied Health Relief Pool team (as per HR Policy D3 and Directive 9/08)
- Provide feedback to the reliever during and on completion of the relief period

Follow professional management processes if required

Allow relievers to access accrued leave entitlements in consultation with the current employing facility (where a placement is greater than three months)

The reliever will not be responsible for any student supervision during their relief period unless previously negotiated between reliever, line manager and facility.

Allied Health Relief Pool Team Responsibilities

Source a suitable reliever for assignments where possible

Initiate recruitment processes
- Refer any alleged standard breaches to the relevant discipline Director and the Allied Health Practitioner Relief Pool Steering Committee if necessary

Complete all relevant documentation for successfully placed relievers
- Remove a reliever from a facility if either the reliever or facility do not comply with agreed standards
- Maintain the administrative process for the relief pool

Feedback to reliever and facility as required.
