Responsibilities

The three parties involved, Relievers, Health Service District, and the Allied Health Relief Pool team have responsibilities to one another.  These are outlined below.

Reliever's Responsibilities

  • Ensure professional registration / licence requirements are current
  • Indicate a location preference for placements, which will be accommodated where possible
  • Abide by the Queensland Health Code of Conduct and relevant professional standards / requirements
  • Provide safe and competent care
  • Fulfil the roles and responsibilities of the position being relieved
  • Work in accordance with local policies
  • Report any concerns to the facility line manager, eg Health Practitioner Director / Director of Medical Services
  • Contribute to and complete evaluation tools related to the relief service
  • Notify the Allied Health Relief Pool team of any changes to your personal information
  • Provide two weeks notice to the Allied Health Relief Pool team if you are no longer able to provide relief
  • Have the option of declining a relief placement offer

If not able to complete a placement, relievers may be liable for the cost of their return flight.
